Who We Are and Why You Should Join Us
Our main purpose is to promote the sport of snowmobiling by providing education and local trails for everyone to enjoy .
The club and all who join are members of the Michigan Snowmobile Association . We are also a member of the Mid-Michigan Snowmobile Council .
By joining, you are increasing the representation that we have in Lansing and Washington , D.C. on the issues that matter most to all snowmobilers.
By joining today, you can have a voice in state-government matters. You will be doing your part in keeping our trails open in Michigan . You can meet other snowmobilers with a passion for the sport, have a great time, and help to develop and maintain the only trail system in Southeastern Michigan .
We have been working on getting the trails open for the past three years, and last year we opened over 50 miles of trails and groomed them at our own expense. This year we are working with the DNR to get our trails covered by the State Snowmobile Grant program. Once we have our grant, some of the monies that you pay for your trail permits and sled registrations will stay right here in the thumb. They have already supplied us with all of the signs we need to properly mark the trails. The club has purchased 2 drags and has negotiated a lease for two 4WD tractors for pulling the drags. Working toward these goals and more, we are dedicated to making the Thumbs Up Snowmobile Club a prominent feature in the world of snowmobiling.
