TRAIL REPORT!

We have already laid out the tentative trials to Minden City and Ruth! We would like to start planning the south trail as soon as possible.

We have acquired another drag for this year! This should help to improve the quality of trails this year. We will be looking for volunteers to help with grooming this winter. We will be having a work shop this fall for those who are interested in learning how to groom properly, if you are interested please be at the next meeting in your area so that we can set a schedule for the training. No one will be allowed to groom with out having received this training.

We are going to be doing trail clearing very soon. One section of trail was cut a few weeks ago, but we are waiting on one landowner’s approval before we can finish the cleanup.  Another section of the trail that needs clearing will start as soon as we have the landowners signed trail permit. If we don’t get this permit there will be a lot of work to do to clear and alternate route. As soon as the crops are off we will be doing the signing and brushing of the existing trails. So please check this site often in the up coming weeks for dates and times

The Minden City council passed a resolution to support the clubs establishment of the trails in Minden City. The Forestville city council also is also passed a resolution to support the clubs establishment of the trails in Forsterville.  We have a couple of obstacles are preventing this trail from being completed, but with the city council’s help it looks like this trail may finally get opened again! One of the obstacles has been resolved so now we only have a small one to find a way around.

We will have maps available next year and will also have information available online. We are going to need help in soliciting businesses to advertise on the map.

A Big “THANK YOU” to Tri-County Equipment and Stoutenburg farms for helping us with the tractors to pull the drag!  We would also like to thank TNT Equipment for allowing us to demo one of their new Case tractors.

Thank you for the donations that we received in out donation cans, we collected over $ 250.00! Not to bad for such a short season.

Please if you enjoyed the trails this year just wait till next year! If the weather cooperates that is. We will be working on two new trails this summer and with your help and support we might get them open for next winter, but it will take a lot of work and dedication by you the members! Check back often and come to the meetings just because it’s not snowing we don’t stop working on making our sport better.

The DNR is supplying all of the signs for next winter, and that means a lot of post driving and signing to do in the fall. We will be getting 1200 posts to put in the ground this fall so make sure to keep some time open so that you can come out and enjoy some great time with fellow snowmobilers.
